Blom Wins Boeing-Sponsored Engineering Student of the Year Award

FARNBOROUGH, UK, July 15, 2008 -- Agnes Blom, a Dutch doctoral student in aerospace engineering, has won the 2008 Engineering Student of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by Boeing and presented by aerospace publication Flight International. Blom, a contractor at the Boeing Development Center in Seattle, was recognized for her Ph.D. research in the development of advanced, fiber-steered, variable-stiffness composite laminates, using equipment such as the automated fiber placement machine seen behind her in this photo.
