First Boeing C-17 On its way to McGuire Air Force Base

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 23, 2004 -- The first of 13 Boeing C-17 Globemaster IIIs for McGuire Air Force Base is on its way from Long Beach, Calif., to the New Jersey facility. The advanced airlifter is McGuire's first new military aircraft in nearly four decades, and will be the U.S. Air Force's 125th operational C-17. The remainder of the McGuire C-17 squadron will be delivered between now and June 2005 -- approximately one aircraft every three to four weeks. (photo by Gina Vanatter)
