Evergreen International Airlines, Inc. to Operate Boeing 747 Large Cargo Freighters

Return to News Release

SEATTLE, Dec. 15, 2005 -- Work is proceeding on the 747-400s that will transport major components of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Two of the three airplanes that will be converted are undergoing modification at Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. in Taiwan. The first airplane's entire upper fuselage and interior structure have been removed. Build-up of the new design began this month with the installation of an all-new pressure bulkhead. Boeing announced today that Evergreen International Airlines, Inc., (EIA) of McMinnville, Oregon, will have overall responsibility for operating the Large Cargo Freighters and for U.S. operations. Evergreen has named Cargolux as a subcontractor to fly routes from Europe, and Sojitz Corp. of America will coordinate logistics and other services for Japanese routes. Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. and Evergreen International Airlines, Inc., are not related.
