Boeing-Led Team Demonstrates New High-Speed Data Technology

Return to News Release

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 09, 2006 -- The Boeing F-15E1 Advanced Technology Demonstrator aircraft takes off on Dec. 17, 2005 from Lambert International Airport at St. Louis during a flight test of a new technology that dramatically speeds up the transmission of tactical aircraft data. The new technology is a High Performance 1553 data bus (called HyPer-1553TM) developed by Data Device Corp. (DDC). The faster speed of the new data bus helps increase bandwidth between subsystems, which is becoming increasingly necessary for network-centric operations and sensor fusion applications. Boeing Phantom Works conducted the flight test, with assistance from Data Device Corp. and Honeywell Aerospace. (Dave Martin photo)
