Boy with book.

The annual Liftoff for Learning drive allows Boeing employees to support local students in meaningful ways. This year’s drive is providing academic and mental health support to 30,000 local students. Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who made this possible!

The 2022 Liftoff for Learning drive raised roughly $75,000 for Boeing nonprofit partners in Washington. The total collected is made up of donations, company gift matching, and employee-driven fundraisers.

One of our three partner organizations is Page Ahead children’s literacy program. The nonprofit provides access to new books and develops reading activities that empower at-risk children.

“Page Ahead recently received a note from a parent ‘In these difficult times, it means more than a lot to get these books.’ I think Boeing employees will probably never know just how much they are appreciated” said Susan Dibble, Executive Director of Page Ahead. “Their support through the Liftoff for Learning drive helps children become strong independent readers, and makes it possible for parents to have great books at home to read with their kids.  We are so grateful for the generosity shown to our students and families by Boeing employees.  Thank you!”

Almost 30,000 children will be impacted by the generous donations of Boeing employees in Washington through these three partner organizations:

Page Ahead

Page Ahead provides access to new books to support early literacy and a joy of reading. Page Ahead believes children should be able to see their lives and experiences reflected in the books they read. The organization sources diverse books and stories to help students feel recognized and excited about reading.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington provide back-to-school supplies for Club kids, such as backpacks, notebooks, and calculators. The organization also provides valuable onsite care, academic support, food distribution, and community resources.

InvestED

InvestED helps equip students for success in close to 700 high schools across Washington state. Liftoff for Learning donations will be used to provide social-emotional support, tutoring, technology and more to students who may be in unstable housing, experiencing homelessness or whose families are struggling financially.
