5 things to know about the COVID-19 vaccine site at Boeing, Everett

Boeing is partnering with the Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce to increase community access to COVID-19 vaccines. The Boeing Everett Activity Center will now be the first indoor mass vaccination site utilized by the Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce, which brings together a number of partners throughout Snohomish County.

“The pandemic has had a profound effect on every facet of life for people locally and around the world, and we must all work together to fight COVID-19,” said Stan Deal, president and CEO at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Boeing is pleased to partner with the Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce on this important effort. We are also in discussions with state and county health officials in other locations where Boeing has facilities to see if there are additional ways for us to assist with vaccinations.”

Here are five things to know now about the vaccination site:

• Long-term site: The Everett Activity Center’s vaccination site is expected to remain open for several months to help increase public access to vaccines. The specific duration and operating hours will be determined in partnership with the Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce.
  
  

• By appointment only: The site is available for anyone who is eligible under the current phase of vaccination. For information on who is eligible, please visit www.snohd.org/covidvaccine or bit.ly/SnoCoHub under the “COVID-19 Vaccine” button.
  
  

• Plan ahead but anticipate that appointments will be limited: Vaccine supply is still limited, and the number of people in Snohomish County who are eligible and eager to get vaccinated far exceeds the number of doses currently available. Appointments book rapidly at all vaccination sites and we anticipate that not everyone who is eligible and would like to get vaccinated will be able to get an appointment. While more appointments will be added as vaccine is available, they are not able to schedule far in advance until there is a steadier supply of vaccine.
  
  

• Vaccines administered by Seattle Visiting Nurse Association: Vaccinations at the Boeing Everett Activity Center will not be administered by Boeing. They will be administered by the Seattle Visiting Nurses Association, which is the largest community immunizer in Washington state. Last year, the SVNA administered about 40,000 flu shots and they have been administering the COVID-19 vaccine at other Washington locations.
  
  

• The Moderna vaccine will be distributed at this site: This is a two-dose vaccine. Those who register for an appointment should expect to be registered for both first and second dose.
