Warsaw, June 3, 2024 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] today officially launched new engineering sites in Poland, significantly expanding the company’s engineering capabilities in-country. Engineers in Gdańsk, Rzeszów and Warsaw will focus on structural and production engineering, as well as software and systems engineering, supporting commercial, defense and services programs. The Company plans to create several hundred new jobs in Poland, which is already one of Boeing’s fastest-growing employees bases in Europe, currently employing over 1,100 people.

Boeing's main engineering site in Rzeszów performs a broad spectrum of engineering activities, including mechanical and electrical engineering as well as customer support.

The Gdańsk site, widely known for its software development legacy, excels in systems and avionics engineering, developing advanced technologies used in almost all Boeing aircraft. In Warsaw, teams are focused on production engineering and materials testing, collaborating closely with Łukasiewicz - Institute of Aviation. All three sites provide engineering support, solutions and designs for various Boeing commercial and defense programs.

“Boeing is dedicated to building a robust and long-lasting engineering presence in Poland,” said Linda Hapgood, vice president, Boeing Engineering Poland & Ukraine. “The creation of this new entity was a logical step, as Poland not only offers the necessary skills for our engineering work, but is also home to many of our industry, airline, research and academic partners, including the esteemed Łukasiewicz - Institute of Aviation.”

Today’s announcement is part of Boeing's global engineering growth strategy, which aims at leveraging resources across the enterprise and at finding synergies between existing global sites. By determining the best locations for various tasks and hiring the right talent, Boeing ensures optimal performance and efficiency.

“As a global company, in a global industry, we develop global talent, and we’re committed to attracting the very best people to join our team from across the world,” said Howard McKenzie, Boeing’s chief engineer and vice president of Engineering, Test & Technology. “Our engineering teams in Poland will strengthen Boeing's efforts to innovate, compete and win by working on a variety of capabilities, including support for current and future aircraft programs.”

Boeing has a long-standing and significant presence in Poland. Continued investments in-country leverage Poland’s exceptionally talented workforce and robust university system across multiple disciplines, all of which will be crucial to both ongoing and future aerospace programs.

In addition to engineering operations, the Boeing has offices for Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Warsaw, Boeing Digital Solutions & Analytics in Gdańsk and Parts & Distribution Services in Rzeszów.
