What are the purposes of processing personal data in this activity?

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: The personal information will be used for interviewing, and evaluation of candidates for employment with the Boeing Company. The video assessment and gaming assessment are done in specific jurisdictions.

HireVue Scheduling: The personal information will be used to schedule interviews with selected candidates.

HireVue CodeVue: This assessment uses a video-based recorded interview followed by one of multiple different available programming/coding challenges used to determine the candidate's proficiency with the coding language selected for the position.

HireVue Prescreen: The personal information will be used to evaluate the candidate for employment with the Boeing Company.

How is Artificial Intelligence used by HireVue?

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: HireVue AI-based Assessments are pre-hiring assessments designed to give recruiters and talent acquisition teams a standard, structured, and fair way to quickly screen more candidates. HireVue's AI-based Assessments use data collected from interviews and games (language, word choices, audio features, game levels completed, levels lost and won, and number of levels played) to model traits and competencies of potential employees, such as the ability to work with others, the ability to do a job, and work style and personality. Automated decision-making is not done using HireVue's AI-based Assessments - Boeing recruiters and talent acquisition teams use the resulting assessments to further screen and evaluate candidates. HireVue's algorithms are continually assessed and measured to demonstrate a lack of adverse impact in order to achieve a selection process that promotes diversity. Your privacy rights may include the right to request the review of decisions made solely based on automated processing of personal data affecting your interests.

AI is not used in HireVue Scheduling, HireVue CodeVue, or HireVue Pre Screen.

What criteria is used by the tool to rank candidates?

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: HireVue's psychometric assessments measure traits and competencies associated with performance at work. The assessments analyze words, word choice, meaning, and sentiment. Cognitive games measurements include the highest level completed and the ratio of levels lost and won. These variables are assigned to categories such as over or understatement, motivation (e.g. goals, achievement, aspirations, etc.), or cognitive orientation (e.g. thinking, knowing, solving, etc.). Candidates are ranked in the following areas ability to work with others, ability to do the job -- both the ability to work with information as well as needed technical skills, and work style and personality, for example, the willingness to work hard and persevere.

HireVue CodeVue: The criteria used for CodeVue includes a score, which is calculated by comparing the candidate's output to the expected output for each test. The percentage of the total tests that pass determines the candidate's score. The playback and timeline functionality allows our recruiters and hiring managers to review an applicant's coding tests. Additionally, the session can be reviewed in detail to see whether and when an applicant navigated to different browsers and pasted code, as well as the number of characters pasted, tests run, and whether the code passed or failed tests.

Ranking is not performed in HireVue Scheduling or HireVue Prescreen.

What are the legal bases of processing?

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

HireVue Scheduling: The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

HireVue CodeVue: For CodeVue, processing is necessary for purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller.

HireVue Prescreen:The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

Is the data subject (the person to whom the data relates) required to provide personal information for this processing activity, and what would be the possible consequences of failing to do so?

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: Provision of personal information for this processing activity is not required. Candidates who do not opt in to video interviews and assessments will not be evaluated or scored by HireVue. These candidates are still eligible to proceed in the selection process but will lack the information that HireVue would have provided to recruiters to assist in candidate evaluation.

HireVue Scheduling: Candidates who decline to schedule an interview are disqualified from consideration for employment with the Boeing Company.

HireVue CodeVue: Candidates for positions that include CodeVue assessments who decline to complete the assessment are disqualified from consideration for those positions.

HireVue Prescreen: Provision of personal information for this processing activity is not required. Candidates who do not opt in to the prescreen video interview are still eligible to proceed in the selection process with a live prescreen interview with a recruiter.

Who are the recipients of the personal data in this activity?

The recipients of the personal information in this activity will be recruiters and hiring teams responsible for evaluating candidates who have applied to requisitions for which the HireVue video interviews and assessments or CodeVue assessments have been enabled. Recruiters will also use the name and email of the candidate to schedule interviews with interview panels.

HireVue Video Interview and Psychometric Assessment: Personal information will be used by business processes based in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, India, China and Brazil.

HireVue Scheduling: Personal information will be used by business processes globally.

HireVue CodeVue: Personal information will be collected from applicants globally, and only used for positions based in the United States.

HireVue Prescreen:Personal information will be used by business processes globally.

In all cases, personal information will only be stored in the United States.
